A day late – but that’s a technicality, with the time zone difference – I’m at the Poetry Hut blog for my Cyclone book tour, going all serious with Jilly Dybka down in Tennessee. Jilly’s blog is a compendium of poetry news and related items of interest, and if you are interested in keeping up with things it’s a great place to get in the habit of dropping in. (She’s also inviting people to appear for interviews like this one, so it may be about to start hopping.)
Jilly got me to put my serious poetry hat on. She’s interested in what Salt Publishing is doing to promote authors, and as it happens she had already bought Me and the Dead! So she asked me about working with Salt and about my views on the state of poetry generally.
For generalisations, pat interpretations, pop sociology, my take on how the Beats wrecked American poetry, and some recommendations of who I think you should be reading, drop in now! You’re lucky, anyway: I answered her questions at about 1am when I was dog-tired, so you’re getting the full stream of barely-edited consciousness. If you disagree with my Aunt Sallyisms, let us know in the comments.
