cadenza of the moose euphoric

Here, apparently, is a real sentence from Sarah Palin’s book:

“As the soles of my shoes hit the soft ground, I pushed past the tall cottonwood trees in a euphoric cadence, and meandered through willow branches that the moose munched on.”

She’s certainly something, all right, but she’s no Donald Rumsfeld.

With thanks to wildlife scout Laura Orem.

  • I’m only surprised it wasn’t the souls of her shoes.

  • Well, perhaps someone would like to unpack the last sentence from this quote, because I’m having problems with it:

“He’s on a road that is not a healthy place to be. He’s a teenager. I don’t think he realises yet quite what he is being handled around.”

I am going to resist the temptation of buying Sarah Palin’s autobiography ‘Going Rogue’ because I don’t want to give the dame a dime. There are several references to her in my ‘Hillimericks’.

    Best wishes from Simon

  • Moose-munching? Isn’t that a euphemism?
